Behind the Lens

Hey, my name is Brooks Gatewood. I am the man behind the lens of BE Videography. I grew up with a camera in my hands collecting memories of friends and family. Anything and everything from vacations, sports, pranks, to even trying to re-create fear factor challenges in my pre-teen years. Growing up, one of my favorite things to do was creating what we called “edits” from an entire season of either skating or skiing. My sport was skating and skiing and my art was filming and editing. My friends and I would capture days upon days of clips and at the end of the season, compile it down to a short video showing off the best shots and tricks.

Fast forward to the summer of 2015. I took that passion and skill set of creating highlight films into the wedding world. The mix of my love for film making, editing cinematic videos and helping collect memories in the unique way of storytelling through video paved the way to what is now BE Videography.

A lot of people ask the meaning behind BE Videography. I get asked all the time me what the “B” and what the “E” stand for. So I created the video below to explain.

About the Website

As I take video and not pictures, I’m fortunate to have worked with some amazing photographers who have allowed me to use some of their work to help create this website. All Photos on this website that are from photographers I’ve worked with are credited below.
